Riverside Reads and Free Comic Book Day

 Free Comic Book Day has come and gone for another year and Riverside Reads has made its mark. Stationed for the day at Gamezilla in Moncton, New Brunswick, I (Scott Tingley, editor in Chief of RR, and grade 3 teacher of the current RR staff) handed out nearly 100 of the comic that the group created over the past few weeks. Whenever I handed one to a young or old customer I began by saying some variation of, “here are 46 pages of awesomeness.”
If you missed us today you will be able to read this comic on this website over the next few weeks.
Over half of the Riverside Reads staff showed up today and they brought with them, parents, siblings and even grandparents. A couple of them even had the artists on hand do sketches for them (Emma had Nick Bradshaw draw Batman for her – it was the second picture he did for the day, and it was great -see pic).
Next year, the title of Riverside Reads’ FCBD issue will be “____ Pages of Awesomeness”
